Speculation on Virgin's Strategy
This blog speculates that Branson's interest in multiple spaceports around the world is a precursor to a suborbital continental service. I've long seen that as a natural extension of suborbital flights like SS-1's. Although I don't agree with his spacecraft evolution scenario I do believe that Branson is interested in expanding the suborbital joy ride market to an actual valueable inter-continental "spaceline" service for the 'beautiful people'. Expanding a market is a wise business strategy, especially if you can offer something desirable that nobody else has.
