I've noticed that message boards that tilt toward the "fantasy" range, like those for games or fantasy sites, tend to incorporate an odd "narration."

*scratches butt thoughfully, sneezes, grabs a tissue to wipe the loogie off the screen*

You practically get a whole radio show going there. And of course, most of the names are fantasy characters, various elves and princesses.

*flips back to see how latest rendering looks. Notices lighting is coming from impossible direction. Curses, flips the light around and hits "render" again. Opens Zone window. Flips open Lileks window to see if update is in. Checks Drudge, and three other news sites in third window*

Few of these people probably resemble elves or princesses, considering what I've seen at SF conventions. But hey,

*flips to Google, contemplates for a brief moment looking up some obscure and pedantic saying to plug in here to make him sound a lot smarter than he really is, decides he's too lazy, flips back to pound out a cheap cliche*

whatever floats their boat, I suppose.
