It happened with the discoverer of pulsar exoplanets in 1990
Wolzscan, who found the first exoplanets around a pulsar in 1992, had made an error about finding a planet around another pulsar two years earlier. He admitted his error at a science conference and was praised for his honesty and integrity by his colleagues - who I am also sure were also thinking, thank (insert deity here) it wasn't me.
Wolzscan had not taken into account the motion of Earth when he thought he had detected a telltale exoplanet sign around a pulsar in 1990.
