So, how's that "European Union" idea coming along?
Apparently, not so hot.
However, as the author points out, the attempt to unify Europe under a centralized bureaucratic authority is being done at the ballot box instead of with lines of troops and tanks, and I think everyone here would admit that it's a great improvement over the rest of European history.
