The Democrats spent the year before the election turning over every rock, parsing every phrase Bush ever spoke, trying to stick the label "liar" on him. The pathetic spectacle of the "16 words" was only the most obvious attempt.
Bush still won re-election. It didn't work. Bush isn't even running for office any more. What does anyone hope to accomplish by recycling the reports and accusations of last year? Does the Left think they can somehow work this up to impeachment? Or are they just hoping to pound on the war hard enough to make it fail in the public arena, so they can stick Iraq up on the trophy board next to Vietnam, and Bush up there next to Nixon?*
*It's "Nixon's War" to them. Not Johnson's.
