re: The truth
I try and respond especially when I have more information than the media or the poster has chosen to pass along.
It is not uncommon for original documents to give a completely different impression than what the New York Times chose to write about them. Examples off the top of my head include the famous August memo, both the Kay and Duelfer reports, the commissions on terror and intelligence, and just now, the U.N. report on missing dual-use systems.
It is no wonder that news stories rarely, if ever, link to original documents on their websites, although the documents are often readily accessible, and usually take me only a few minutes to locate.
