Iraqis killed by the insurgency in the past 18 months
For the record, I believe that the number and sourcing is a bit sketchy. Take it for what it's worth.
But I would venture a guess that if the same number, released from the same sources, had said "12,000 killed by Americans," it would have been engraved in the media and the minds of the left as firmly as the Lancet number has been.
It will be interesting to see how this number is treated compared to the others.
