Finally got my 8 inch Dob built. It's not pretty... not painted or stained, but you don't notice those things under dark skies... My proudest moment was actually getting the spider and secondary in correctly the first try, dropping the primary onto the tailgate and having everything line up almost perfectly without even having to adjust the collimation bolts! :-)

Question about optics for anyone familiar with light buckets that size. The primary is an f4.5, and came with a 25mm eyepeice (~36x magnification.) I'm going to get a set of 4 or 5 eyepeices ranging from 6mm to 20mm. Will an f4.5 tolerate a 6mm, or should I not go that far? Also, is 20 bucks per eyepeice going to get me a decent eyepeice, or is this one of those cases where you really get what you pay for, and I should pay a bit more?

Can't wait to watch Temple 1's collision next month!
