To put it bluntly, the media will rehash a story endlessly if it serves their political agenda. This is why things like the National Guard story floated up again and again, and why if new photos of Abu Ghraib come out, it will be headlines for weeks even if they are new photos of the same people doing the same things on the same occasions.
On the other hand, when a story starts getting embarrasing for the Left...
You can take it to the bank that if DeLay was standing alone in his accounting difficulties, it would be in the news every day.
