Okay. I stand corrected.

Bowser believes that useful information can be gained from prisoners using torture.

Now, an additional question: Do you also take the position that anything that makes a prisoner unhappy or angry is "torture?" Is sawing off limbs like Saddam did the same as tying someone to a bed? Is what POWs went through in North Vietnam, in the hands of people who wiped their butts with the Geneva Conventions, identical to putting underwear on someone's head, keeping the room too cold, or shoving some boobs in his face? Or handling a Koran without gloves?

If not, can you define the limits of the word "torture" so we can all be on the same page this time?

And considering that apparently useful information can be gathered from terrorists under duress, at what point do we decide that we will do without that information to remain on the high ground? If a terrorist act takes place that we knew nothing about, will you consider the lives lost a fair trade against the morality of a nation? Believe it or not, I think you could make a valid argument for that.

However, paying that price and then bitching afterwards because our intelligence people "didn't do enough to protect us" is something else.
