Harlton Arp, and other Big Bang doubters have commonly claimed that quasars are spat out of galaxies and have high intrinsic red-shifts. While some QSOs and host galaxies have been imaged and pretty much supported the Active Galactic Nucleus model the BB doubters have kept at it. Now it seems statistics is against them...

QSO Associations are Random

...and that's from the Sloan Sky Survey data. So I'd say case closed. There's no solid evidence for any non-AGN process behind QSO phenomena, just random line-ups and wishful thinking by Steady State die-hards.
