State's worst serial killer murdered 29 victims while working in hospitals

Charles Cullen of Bethlehem, Pa., a former nurse, recently admitted to killing five more patients while working in various medical centers, bringing the number of his victims to 29.

FLEMINGTON, N.J. - Killer nurse Charles Cullen on Monday admitted murdering five patients while he was working at Hunterdon Medical Center, bringing to 29 the victims whom the state's worst serial killer has confessed to slaying in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Cullen, 45, pleaded guilty to the murders in state Superior Court. Through a court official, the families of the victims — who ages ranged from 49 to 81 — said they did not want to comment.

Dennis Rader, 60, pleaded guilty Monday to 10 counts of first-degree murder in the BTK slayings that terrorized Wichita, Kansas, beginning in the 1970s.

WICHITA, Kan. - In a surprise move, Dennis Rader pleaded guilty Monday to 10 counts of first-degree murder before delivering a chilling matter-of fact account of the BTK slayings that terrorized the city beginning in the 1970s.

Rader, 60, of Park City, entered the guilty pleas as his trial was scheduled to begin Monday.

Referring to his victims as “projects,” Rader laid out for the court how he would “troll” for victims on his off-time, then stalk them and kill them.

I have always wondered what in the world prompts such persons to do what they do. I have never received any answer that made sense.
