I remember seeing Fay Wray at the Oscars not too many years ago. She wasn't totally with the program, if you know what I mean, but was actually quite pleasant otherwise.
Ah, the 1976 version. I saw it when it first came out. One thing I do recall was the theater audience cheering when Kong took down one of the helicopters that were shooting him with machine guns. On top of the World Trade Center, no less.
You had to feel sorry for the big lug, taken from his home by some greedy oil corporation for promotional purposes and using a woman to do it to boot. I like what one character said how his removal from that island would also take away the center of the tribe that worshipped him. Ya got to wonder how often they got a blond babe to keep Kong happy, though. :^)
And after Kong fell to his death, wasn't it amazing how fast Jessica Lange and Mr. Bridges' characters made it all the way down from the top of the WTC in a matter of minutes?
