Cold ammoniated slush...

Hi All

My mental picture of a thin slush layer is a bit like a cave diving run, but with icy columns instead of limestone.

However from what I've read cold ammonia-water slush is more like cold honey pulled out of the fridge - very viscous and reluctant to flow.

There are bats that can tolerate ~ 6% ammonia in the air (from their own guano mountain) and I wonder what microbes can handle in cold aqueous environments. Will we find truly ammonia based bugs?
