My late mother-in-law knew the Rosenbergs.
They never made any secret of their Communist leanings. They were completely open about hating the USA and loving the USSR and Stalin. The notion that they were innocent is so preposterous that it does not merit response, but the USSR's secret intelligence files on the subject have been opened to public scrutiny and the Rosenbergs were guilty as charged.
Equally amusing was the charge that they were "persecuted" because they were (non-practicing) Jews. Hardly. The prosecutor, the judge, and half of the jury were all Jewish. Not the best argument for anti-semitism. Instead, an argument for patriotism. The Rosenbergs deserved what they got.
