re: The questions

What amazes me is that the Left can keep repeating the same things over and over again as though somehow they're saying something new this time.

Bush and the generals know that a war has only two valid exit strategies: win, or lose. Winning has been clearly defined as arriving at the point where security can be handled successfully by the Iraqis themselves, and they have a government capable of working with it. The idea of laying a rigid deadline on this is inane, and shows yet again why liberals should never be allowed within a mile of any position of authority in national security.

"Well, we made the D-Day landings, and are moving out, but if we haven't taken Berlin in six months, we're pulling out of here."

Bush and the military have repeated this many times. It isn't their fault if it isn't the answer William Raspberry wants to hear.

You want the truth about columns like this? There's a reason his leading paragraphs were about Bush's poll ratings.

This isn't about Iraq for people like Raspberry, and never was. Neither was Afghanistan, for that matter.

This is what really pisses William Raspberry off.

The Left wants Bush's political career destroyed. Iraq, like many other things, is just one tool for this.
