Space/Science » in reply to Oligarchic and giant impact growth of terrestrial planets in the presence of gas giant planet migration

make mine medium rare

Planet migration was not widely accepted before the discovery of hot Js forced re-thinking of solar system formation models. Recent observations of stellar dust disks indicates that the TYPICAL solar system has massive planets formed way out at multiples of Pluto's distance, while asteroid belt distance disks are rare in comparison < 5%. To be confirmed shortly. If so as I believe, our solar system configuration is a rare type.
