re: Blizzard stupidity
In defense of Gov Mike Dukakis (gaaak!) whom I had voted for, he issued a blanket procalmation which obviously did not need to apply everywhere. At the time I lived in Westford 30 mi NW of Boston. Coulda easily driven as we were plowed out out there but woulda gotten a $ ticket. Spent the restricted week on my X-C skis. The Duke's fame on TV in his sweater resulted in his propminence such that he became the D candidate for Pres. Didn't work out well.
