If one of them got killed - I'd maybe agree with you. It IS odd that they found timing gear with all of the bombs - but that was probably just so they didnt have to physically trigger it themselves.
But all of them were killed - which makes be think that either they were just bloody unlucky, all at roughly the same time ( unlikely ) ....or....they did intend to stay with the packages thru the event to ensure they were not discovered.
