Saw this show on 60 Minutes II this evening. Shame on America. Shame on John Ashcroft for approving this atrocity in the name of the US.

Is it possible the United States sent an innocent man out of the country to be tortured? That's the disturbing question at the heart of a case that may reveal a secret side of the war on terrorism -- one that the government does not want to talk about, but one that Correspondent Vicki Mabrey investigated, with surprising results. Mabrey follows the case of Maher Arar, a Syrian-born Canadian citizen who was taken into custody while changing planes in New York, under suspicion of being connected with al Qaeda. What followed took him to a destination he never expected: it was nothing less than a year in hell.
