What gets tiresome here and elsewhere is the constant attempt to pretend that this is about morality, national security, concern for the operations of the CIA, or anything else other than a Javert/Ahab obsession with the destruction of the Bush administration.
The New York Times, currently waving Plame's bloody shirt around and wailing about the damage done to the CIA, printed a story at the end of May not only revealing a secret CIA operation, but posting photos of planes that were used to fly into hostile areas.
The public's "need to know" seems to be extraordinarily flexible on the part of the media, and I'm sure it's just coincidental that what they consider "good leaks" are only those that damage Republicans.
