USA Today article. The dreaded Alternative Minimum Tax, created in the 60s to get those making over $200K (back then) now slams some people making UNDER $100,000 with thousands in extra taxes. It should be abolished. Here's a radical idea, rather than replace the revenue, cut the federal government.

Best yet, there's a better idea, the the Fair Tax "H.R. 25, The FairTax Bill, repeals the alternative minimum tax ... along with the income tax, payroll taxes, death taxes, corporate income taxes .... and much more. This problem can be solved without raising taxes or eliminating exemptions and deductions. Just get the FairTax enacted --- AMT gone --- problem solved."
