You haven't lived until you see your car thermometer hit 120 degrees. It's always good to own some pre-92 vehicles for summertime. Freon is the only refrigerant that cuts it when it's this hot. R134 keeps you alive, but never gets the car cool enough to be comfortable.
It's the homeless folk that have been dying. (13 at last count?) There are about 10-20,000 of them in the greater Phoenix region. Two or three seniors have also perished, due to malfunctioning cooling equipment or not having their AC turned on. Illegal border runners also always succumb to the heat and create quite a toll during summer but that is counted separately.
Air conditioning is survival. When those environmentalists want to curb Freon - they are really sentencing some old folks to death in the hotter parts of the nation. If one has experienced such heat - one can never forget it.
I propose all environmentalists compose their legislative agendas from r134 and other CFC-free refrigerant cooled buildings in Phoenix!
