If the USA undermines the will of liberated Iraq, will they be considered to be a sovereign state in the eyes of the Arab world?

Would such a move on the part of the USA be the spark that ignites a civil war? Or will the creation of a (Shi'a) Islamic Republic push the disenfranchised minorities to arms?

Then there is the issue of Iraq's energy resources. Would an Islamic Republic of Iraq be more likely to nationalize her oil industry than if she were a quasi-Western democracy?
