The stupid stuff will fall away. It always does. The real issue, I believe, is the sacrifice of the children upon whose education this lesson is learned. They will survive, less knowledgeable and skilled than other cohorts, but they will survive. They will become your cynics, because they may not receive the cultural training that would help them, but (like children everywhere) they know the difference between rabbit raisins and real raisins. Every time they see a raisin, from now on, they will assume it came from the back end of a rabbit until someone proves otherwise.
There are plenty of chronic cynics out there already. The people who reject this intellectual wanking may still end up being the kind of people who think a sure sign of intellectual sophistication is to tear things down, and who believe that data and facts are a lot less important than presentation. That what you say is not as important as how you say it.
As for the people who end up accepting this stuff, most will probably end up in academia. If they were insulated away like bacteria trapped in a cyst, they would be harmless. But in academia, you get to teach young people. So it gets passed on.
And that's assuming the students haven't absorbed the rest of the philosophies of these teachers. Oh, sure. Only some of them are actual Marxists. But you can bet there are damn few of them who put up a flag on the Fourth of July, and that gets passed on, too. Unconditional hostility towards one's own nation is no more useful to a society than unconditional acceptance.

I tend to agree, but the damage may not be all that ephemeral.
