The Space Program Needed (and Needs) His Speaking Presence

While I respect Neil Armstrong for not caving into the literally millions of dollars he was offered to do ads for Tang and Lord knows what else, I also wish he had been more open about supporting the space program, especially when it was needed after 1972. Certainly a few words from him - heck, just him showing up - might have made the difference between us having a continued presence on the Moon and manned missions to Mars by now instead of what we have.

He might even have had the chance to punch out his own Apollo Hoax conspiracist! :^)

Most people still don't "get" space exploration and they still think the money should be better spent on Earth - despite the fact that so much more IS spent on Earth than space and yet somehow the human race still wallows in poverty, war, crime, famine, etc.

I hope the members of this forum continue to do their part to promote our future as well.
Hint - lay off the really boring technical parts of VSE.
