MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- A Russian mini-submarine that had been trapped at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean since Thursday surfaced Sunday, and all seven of the crew members on board are alive and in satisfactory condition, officials said.

Earlier, Russian officials dismissed comments made by a former Russian Black Sea Fleet commander, saying U.S. and British participation in the rescue could expose Russian military secrets, Interfax reported.

Adm. Eduard Baltin told the news agency the region where the rescue was taking place "is stuffed" with Russian military secrets.

"The main goal for us is to save the crew," Adm. Viktor Fyodorov, the commander of Russia's Pacific Fleet, told Interfax in response to Baltin's comments.
