Scout-Master Gaddafi Shock Horror
Gaddafi inspired by Baden-Powell (The Oz, 9Aug05)
LONDON: Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, the eccentric Libyan dictator and former pariah of the West, has described how he drew his early inspiration from Lord Baden-Powell, one of the most famous heroes of the British empire and founder of the worldwide Scout movement.
According to Colonel Gaddafi's memoirs, to be published next month, Baden-Powell's 1908 book Scouting for Boys influenced his mother to enrol him in the Scouts.
.. Time to resurrect that thread about the virtues of the Scouts ;)
