Is your theory that there is some way those lives, taxpayer dollars, and diplomatic capital would be useful in keeping Iran from developing nuclear weapons? Details, please.

If nothing else, the Iran situation demonstrates the absolute impotence of the United Nations as a mechanism for preventing determined tyrants from creating WMD.
