re: Perseids tonite
Apparently we were supposed to get a burst of activity tonight, maybe 250/hr vs the usual 80, so maybe RL did see an unusually good show tonight.
Sadly, I'm awake not because of meteor watching, but because after weeks and weeks of clear (if hot and humid) weather, we have thunderstorms passing through tonight.
Ah well, after seeing the 2001 Leonid storm from the Arizona desert, it'll be a while before I'm able to be impressed by the Perseids again...
