Look at it from the Leftists' point of view.
If the new government permits people to gripe, and they do so, then it is obviously incompetent. If it does NOT permit people to gripe, it is totalitarian. Either way, it is bad. What I read from many Leftists these days is the statement that, "Saddam was better!" This shows a total lack of contact with realty.
