When I survived the disbandment of a data center...
...(actually, I got laid off like almost everybody else - if that can be called survival, I'm not certain) there was a point when they said, "If you want anything besides electronics or furniture, just take it to your car." So I saw a whiteboard and thought it would be a really cool thing to have.
I took it home and put it on a wall, and never used it. It hung there for many years till I got tired of its mockery and I set it out at the curb where, I assume, somebody else thought it was a really cool thing to have.
