Leaders are difficult to replace.
Each time a leader is killed, the organization grows weaker and less organized. Al Qaeda is not indestructible nor invulnerable. They are gradually losing steam. Once they controlled an entire country, Afghanistan, which was a central base of operations. Now more than half of those who were in Afghanistan are dead, or worse, in the bottomless pit of USA's terminal confinement from which they will never be heard of again.
