But not unexpected

Conservative opposition to any form of government health care has little to do with financial considerations, or even these ludicrous constitutional objections. It has to do with self-interest. Over and above the fact that nobody likes paying for an expensive benefit for someone else, there is a deeper and more fundamental interest involved.

Most folks have enough marketable job skills, reputation in their field and cash in reserve to tell off their boss, go find another job, start a business, go back to school, go for that low-paying dream gig you've always wanted to spend your life doing, take a sabbatical, or whatever.

Taking the risk for yourself is one thing, but taking a chance on leaving your family without health insurance is something else again.
This tends to keep workers docile and compliant. They will do anything to keep their job if they have one, and everything to get one if they don't. This is why its so important that no form of National Health be available for working people as an alternative or supplement to commercial insurance. It helps keep the work force scared, intimidated, and under control.

The problem now is that everyone in your family can be working their ass off and health insurance can still be financially out of reach.
