This is a huge change from the 50km high base structure envisaged just a few years ago .. his idea of building up the counterweight with used spacecraft is particularly ingenious IMO ..
.. still working on other problems such as lightning-attraction and corrosion/degradation via micrometiorites and space dust .. what a project!
