re: P.S. to the crew at unmannedspaceflight.com...

I provided the space and the place...

the members do the rest. The volume, quality, and amazingly the speed at which some guys do the work with raw imagery is amazing.

Growing really nicely as well - just passed one million topic views - and from an average of 20-50 posts per week 1 year ago, we now get between 400 and 700 a week.

Funniest stat of all is looking at registrations. Accidentally back in April when re-structuring the place to include stuff outside of the MER world, I turned off the ability for guests to view threads. In 3 days, I had 202 new members sign up - an increase of about 50% at the time. Shows there's a LOT of lurkers out there.

I think you can all blame Nick Hoffman for the place ever getting started - I began the old MER forum after Nick said some kind words on some early Opportunity image work I'd done, and said I should put my name on them. I figured that if I was doing it, others must be as well, and it would be nice to have a chat about it and compare notes, techniques and results. Then with people like Alan Stern, Jason Perry, Geoff Landis, Phil Stooke, Ted Stryk all joining - it's just grown and grown.
