I think the geologists are experiencing epiphany.
If the Spirit rover went kaput next week, I think you
you would still have the THEMIS multispectral images of that 'baseball diamond'
to decipher what mineral makeup it is.
Do my eyes deceive me again, and is that a cliff overhang in the leftside of the panorama?
