That's the plan
Repackaging what I heard on NPR: They will combine Walter Reed with Bethesda Naval Hospital, rename the combined 'operation' Walter Reed Hospital, and build a state of the art facility to house it in.
"Kids coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan, all of them in harm's way, deserve to come back to 21st century medical care," said [base closing] commission Chairman Anthony Principi. "It needs to be modernized."
