A couple years ago, I had a pair of shoes that kept tripping anti-theft alarms and metal detectors. It used to annoy the hell out of me. One time, I got jacked up by security at an airport in San Diego (my daughter-in-law enjoyed that entirely too much) because of those damned shoes. One day, after tripping the alarm yet again at a Blockbusters, they offered to check the shoes. Sure enough, the right one was the culprit. It seems that when I bought them, the checkout clerk didn't demagnetize it properly. The Blockbuster people did and I never had a problem with them again.
As a warning, if the antitheft alarms sound when you pass through them, then whatever you're wearing is going to set off the metal detectors at an airport.
As for particular shoes, I've found that if they don't have metal shoelace eyes, they're seldom a problem.
