Give until it..nah. Give until...you hardly notice it.
Intense corporate giving helped make up the difference, led by the Eli Lilly Foundation ($10 million), Chevron Corp. ($5 million), Toyota Motor Corp. and subsidiaries ($5 million), Abbott Laboratories ($4 million in cash and in-kind aid), Wal-Mart Stores ($2 million) and Microsoft ($1 million).

This is a very interesting set of statistics.
I'm actually surprised at how little the amounts are. Presidents Bush & CLinton obviously coerced them against their will and so we are seeing token donations.
1 million from Microsoft?
2 million from Wal-Mart?
5 million from Chevron? (who will generate Rape-like windfall profits from the crisis to the tune of billions before its all over)
The pharmaceutical companies will also do nicely before its all over.
Now of course no one's saying they have to give ANYTHING. But if I were Gates, and I decided its a worthy cause to donate to, I'd be massively embarassed to give such a paltry sum to the largest national disaster.
20 million is a drop in the corporate bucket for the publicity & goodwill a sizable donation generates.
But as bad as Gates donation the Chevron donation is almost an insult, considering the profits they are raking in.
Just thought I'd share it. Everything helps. But I can say that I'm quite a bit disappointed in our nations largest corporations.
