Little Buddy...

Typecast as Gilligan for life, but ironically he will be better known than most people. And his wife has an interesting name I have never seen before.

Though just to show how times have changed, when I told my 9-year-old that the actor who played Gilligan died, he thought I was referring to the reality TV show! Just bonk me with a coconut on the head, why doncha?

A quote from the original article linked in this thread:

California state Sen. Sheila James Kuehl, who played Dobie's love-struck pursuer, remembered Denver as a mentor, both in acting and life.

"What he taught me about acting was when you work to make the other person look good, you end up looking good yourself," she said. "What he taught me about life was that you could love your work, but it was really more important to love your friends and family."

As Krebs, Denver's only desire was to play the bongos and hang out at coffee houses, and he would shriek every time the word "work" was mentioned.

"If a man walk in the wood for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer; but if he spends his whole day as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making earth bald before her time, he is an esteemed industrious and enterprising citizen." - Henry David Thoreau
