Searching for the soul in quantum signals is a likely place to find it as any.
The soul, by my own reckoning must possess those signals that make it both immortal and elusive and can't be rooted in any particular atomic structures.
Everything is energy. Everything is signals. This post, the computer, the desk, the planet, stars...on and on...simply signals.
It's hard to see outside the material box long enough to envision the universe in a "Matrix-esque" framework. Our eyes and other senses are too good at providing us with reference points to assimilate and interpret data.
Seeing death and how different the body is when it is not inhabited by a soul, does provide a dramatic disparity.
If we look at that "5th dimension - unified timespace" thing again, we'll see that both time and space are superceded by FTL signals.
What does this mean? It means that every FTL signal lasts FOREVER.
It doesn't decay. It doesn't rot. It doesn't die. It is at once a part of everything and every moment. It is immortal.
If souls are made up of stored FTL signals, then they are immortal. Their reflection into the atomic world would recreate "consciousness" at will...and at any time, on any world in the vast multiverse.
But even an immortal signal, means nothing if it carries little data. Therefore the soul must build up knowledge, data, to carry with it new information, experiences and skills.
So one sees why a "soul" would want to experience life in as many and varied different intelligent forms as possible. Evolution would occur all around us, and would not be guided by any god, but rather by an infinite number of infinite, immortal signals learning of themselves and building up complex data sets.
Time would mean nothing. However, destructive data might eventually lose the speed and energy of the signal. This would mean an end to immortality and a soul might flame-out like a ramjet not having enough air intake.
So positive constructive acts would build up said soul and strengthen one's own immortality. Experience would increase one's abilities whenver one manifested into the atomic spectra.
Pretty soon, one just appears in a blinding flash in whatever form is necessary, attempts to learn new things still absent in the data base, assists where one can and disappears in another flash.
Or even more complex souls could likely sustain multiple bodies. The sould would become a master and the bodies would act as remote slaves - whose role is to gather information and experience.
Good luck on your quest to discover or prove the existence of the soul.
I have discovered that convincing others of its existence is not necessarily productive. Each souls moment of "self-awareness" comes at varying points.
All that really matters is that YOU know of your immortality and work to develop it. Nothing in this universe comes easy. No god can grant or take away things from you. You can only do this to yourself.
I know of my own immortality, and understand how it works. Each life is like a day. And yet each day , each moment is infinitely important. Each moment is infinity unto itself - and when one understands the timelessness of FTL signals - one understands why.
Each thought will build who you are. Each action will strengthen or weaken your progress to expand your date set with useful data.
Choose carefully.
