Interesting that we haven't heard much discussion of this aspect of long-duration Moon missions whilst it is a regular red flag waved at Mars.
I guess the exposure times are shorter, for a realistic mission, but we're still looking at a similar radiation problem and a similar solution - dig in and cover up. Stay indoors unless you have to go out in the midday sun...
