Current science

A few exceptions: His discussion on quasars, but if I need the latest theories on those objects, I can find it on the Internet in a matter of minutes at the most. The same with his later episode on the theory of the Universe closing back in on itself in the Big Crunch. And some may find Sagan's warnings of nuclear destruction from the Cold War quaint, but is the world any better off today?

I think it's a good sign that the science is progressing to the point where some of Cosmos is obsolete. I'd be a bit depressed if I could pick up a 1970s science book, and it was still the latest thing.

As far as nuclear destruction is concerned? Yes. The world is a hell of a lot better off today.
