When they KNEW the hurricane was going to hit New Orleans, the Mayor should have been on the phone with the Governor who should have gotten on the phone with Homeland Security who should have gotten on the phone with Fema and it should have all been planned, plotted and done BEFORE the storm hit! The Mayor knew (or should have known) there were people to poor to leave and those buses should have gone to get them.

EVERYBODY screwed up. There is no agency or entity who did their job here.

Were I in a position to do so, I'd fire the Mayor, the Governor and Chertoff. Unfortunately, the first two are elected and the 3rd will never get fired. He's risen to his level of incompetence and will stay there until this administration is gone.
