Tell ya what. You go back to what the media, the newspapers, and pundits were saying the first week in September. That goddam interview was played over and over again.
Go back and look at some of the threads here from that time. It was twice as bad on other sites.
If I were less busy, I would frigging BURY you in links.
The government, never mind the military personnel, National Guard and all the others doing their best to save people at all levels were, for all intents and purposes, falsely accused of screwing up, and even of deliberately holding back, or in extreme cases, of actual sabotage. This nursing home story, carried on CNN, was one of the prime accusation weapons.
The facts are saying otherwise all across the board now. And yet the meme of failure sits there, unsupported, hanging in midair, and still driving the politics and the methods of recovery.
If you personally were accused of a crime--say raping someone--in dozens of newspapers, a correction over two weeks later when the evidence stunk from day one doesn't make it all go away.
