Some energy conservation news
A good article in the Mercury News today on a state conservation plan. I hope the link works. I'm finding out that a lot of my registrations are cookie-driven, and I don't even see the signons.
Also, how about them LED light bulbs? Still very new tech, with dim output (60 lumens) for a lot of cash ($45 bucks!). But very efficient, and almost immortal. I suspect the circuitry that drops 110 volts down to what the LEDs can use is the part that eventually wears out.
I remember how expensive (and crappy) the original flourescent miniature bulbs were.
