I understood you're point but let me ask you this: If there we're a race of purple people who wore green cowboy boots, and a fraction of them declared holy war against the US and fought it with terrorism, wouldn't it be prudent to scrutinize them more closely? I think this was the author's point. In addition to the rabble rousing.
