As for her salient point, I do get it but I don't particularly agree with her. I certainly agree that the Prometheus characters were a gang of incompetents. I think I linked a satire bit on Prometheus from YouTube a few months ago. Otherwise, she seemed to give more examples of competence than incompetence.
I find most of the heroes of TV and film scifi are portrayed as mostly competent but sometimes the characters are victims of the writer's plot devices used to create suspense and what they see as poignancy. There are very few shows or films that we don't find our self wondering why the hero did this or that stupid thing. Nothing new about that.
