As yet, I have seen no specific thing that anyone can point to where lives were lost or something awful happened solely because Brown and no one else screwed up something.

Brown was nominated in January of 2003 as Under Secretary, after earlier approval by the Senate (who presumably had access to his resume), and oversaw over 150 disaster declarations, including the Columbia disaster and the 2004 hurricane season. As far as I know, not one peep was heard about his credentials or performance all that time.

A convenient target, the Left and the media piled on using mostly noise and bluster, until he was forced out. Wasn't the first such case, and no doubt won't be the last. Right now, it's DeLay again.
